JogBeat

JogBeat Promotional Website

The Approach

Time was dedicated to uncovering the motivations, aspirations and goals of the Sound Radix team for this project, as well as the users. After gathering requirements, planning began and a proposal was quickly accepted — once a creative direction was communicated.

The Opportunity

The business owners at Sound Radix approached me to help them design and build a website for their new application at called “JogBeat”, which helps runners pick music that moves to the beat of their running (leveraging beats-per-minute, or “BPM” for short).

The goal of this website is to articulate immediately that this is an app that helps you run better.

Lessons Learned

Since Sound Radix resides in Israel, solid communication over email and voice was important. Scheduling calls helped cover more detailed parts of the project, while email helped us move forward seamlessly with design, writing and annotations. Enterprise file sharing was also used to keep files up to date ready for production. We were early adopters of Dropbox.

The Design Process

Drafts of the original design and copy were developed until the client was happy with the core direction. Soon after, high fidelity files were produced and reviewed. The client was providing their own production services which meant delivering highly annotated files, along with the original creative and writing, became key.

Final Thoughts

Working with a company in a different country (and timezone) was challenging, but due to our diligence and communication strategy, everything moved smoothly without any issues, and the client was very happy with the outcome.
